Kitchen Remodel — Mt. Pleasant, SC

For twenty years, the homeowner pictured tearing down the wall between her dark, closed-off kitchen and the living room. Working from a kitchen designer’s plan, Palmetto Craftsmen made it real — opening the space and rebuilding the kitchen from the layout up.

The old layout never quite worked, and the sink was the worst of it — pushed to the end of the counter with no landing space on either side. The redesign relocated the dishwasher to give the sink a proper landing zone on both sides, brought in a counter-depth refrigerator, and traded an awkward corner for better flow, with dedicated storage by the range and a downdraft over the cooktop.

Palmetto Craftsmen took that plan and built it, managed day-to-day by project manager Tricia Milner. Two mismatched doors — to the pantry and the dining room — were replaced and matched in height, one swapped for glass. Under-cabinet outlets and lighting stood in for a cut-up backsplash, finished with an instant hot-water tap and new lighting throughout. The work ran April to September 2026, permitting through the Town of Mt. Pleasant included — no rush, no shortcuts.
