Home Updates in South Windemere

Palmetto Craftsmen brought this South Windemere home on Chadwick Street back to life with a balance of preservation and modern updates.

Their team transformed the foyer with a bluestone stairway, custom ironwork by a local welder, and hidden wallpapered closets, while stucco and fresh exterior paint tied the entry together.

Inside, Palmetto Craftsmen rebuilt the vaulted ceiling with wooden beams, added trapezoid windows for light, and reinstalled the gas fireplace safely before finishing it in striking onyx marble.

They also solved structural and functional issues—like reframing a bathroom ceiling, installing a trench drain for water management, and adding custom cabinetry throughout—while maintaining the home’s 1950s character.

From the outdoor Ipe wood shower to redesigned lighting and locally crafted tile, Palmetto Craftsmen executed designer Ginny Conlon’s vision with precision, craftsmanship, and respect for the home’s mid-century charm.
